Supervisor Don Knabe

DON KNABE was first elected to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors in November of 1996 and began his first term in office on December 2, 1996. He ran unopposed for his second term and was re-elected on March 7, 2000. Don is the first chief-of-staff ever elected to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.

A community leader for close to 30 years, Don is noted for his attention to detail and ability to see the overall big picture. The strength of his grassroots support and considerable experience in local government have made him a highly regarded voice, not only at home in the Fourth District, but in both Sacramento and Washington D.C.

In 1998, Supervisor Knabe hired acire staff to create the first web presence for Fourth District constituents. Since then, acire staff has evolved the Supervisor's site three times. Knabe.com developed for Supervisor Knabe ties together his district of 26 cities and unincorporated areas. With an extensive calendar, press release server, links to every staff member plus hundreds of other government services, the Supervisor's office provides a wonderful online resource to their constituency. In 2006, Supervisor Knabe internalized management of its web asset.
